Actions for Retrospectives

This retrospective format enables the less obvious improvement items to surface. Instructions: Each person uses the board and the corresponding icons to identify the following: - Appreciations: What or who do you appreciate in your work together? - Puzzles: What questions do you have for which you have no answer? - Risks: What future pitfalls do you see that could endanger the work and outcomes the group is trying to achieve? - Wishes: What can you identify that would support your ideal state for the work and outcomes the group is trying to achieve? These are not improvement items. - Actions: The actions or changes that the team agrees and commits to making as a result of the retrospective. 1) Everyone participating adds items to each of the four categories for a specified time box. 2) When the time box is complete, each team member reads out their items to the rest of the team. 3) The team dot votes on the items captured and the top 1-3 items are discussed with a specific action identified. The team can add their vote by putting an “X” in the item description while in Table view on the board. The item(s) that get the most votes move to the actions section of the board and the team commits to moving them forward as a result of the retrospective.
